Location and hours of influenza clinic changes in Saskatoon

Additional clinic to be held in Humboldt

Saskatoon – To accommodate anticipated demand for free influenza immunization Saskatoon Health Region is moving its January 11 flu clinic from West Winds Primary Health Centre to a larger location at Saskatoon City Hospital. The Region is also extending the clinic hours. The Saskatoon clinic will now take place:

Saturday January 11, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saskatoon City Hospital, Therapies Gym,
701 Queen Street, Saskatoon

The Region is also offering free parking in the Saskatoon City Hospital parking lot for people who receive an influenza immunization that day.

For those outside Saskatoon, a drop-in clinic is planned in Humboldt:

Friday, January 10, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Humboldt Public Health Office
515-14th Avenue, Humboldt

“We are prepared to offer all available supplies of vaccine, which is about 1,500 doses to those who attend our remaining clinics,” says Karen Grauer, manager of Population and Public Health.

People who previously made immunization appointments for next week will be personally contacted and asked to come to the mass immunization clinic instead.

People who were immunized in the fall of 2013 do not need to be immunized again. The vaccine they received is effective in preventing H1N1 and two other strains of influenza through this flu season.
