| Michael Stensrud is the new chair of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority (SRHA) board.
The designation was made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council on January 14, along with the designation of Megan Rumbold as vice-chair.
"I want to extend my congratulations to Mr. Stensrud on his new role as board chair of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority," Health Minister Dustin Duncan said. "His strong leadership will benefit the region, and will help lead his team to achieve better care, better health, and better value for the residents of Saskatchewan."
Stensrud will replace Jim Rhode, who stepped down from the role January 10.
"The Regional Health Authority remains indebted to Mr. Rhode for his excellent and dedicated service to the organization over these past six years," Stensrud stated. "Jim always endeavored to put the patient first during his tenure and the Board remains committed to that same philosophy."
The SRHA had designated Stensrud, a serving board member since 2009, as interim board chair effective January 10 to fill the gap between Rhode's departure and the announcement of the new permanent board chair.
Stensrud is president and general manager of Miners Construction Co. Ltd., and has a long history of board volunteerism with community based organizations that provide supports for those in our community with intellectual and/or physical challenges. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Cosmopolitan Industries, and is secretary-treasurer of Airline Resorts and Hotels.
Megan Rumbold has been on the SRHA board since 2012, and has served as the interim vice-chairperson since last year. From Kuroki, she owns and operates a grain farm and an independent crop protection retail operation, and dedicates time to several local community and provincial initiatives.
