The family waiting room on Unit 6000, the cardiology unit, at Royal University Hospital has been completely renovated with new furniture, lighting, paint, and a children’s area thanks to generous funding through a 60th anniversary Royal University Hospital Foundation grant and Preston Park Retirement Residence. The room upgrades are designed to ensure families have a quiet, comfortable place to wait or rest that is separate from patient rooms.
“The change to the waiting room has been nothing short of transformative - patients, families and staff have all commented on the warm, welcoming feel they get when they walk by, or enter the room,” says Judy Duchscher, previous Manager of Unit 6000 on the 6th floor of Royal University Hospital. “We are so thankful to the donors that helped make these improvements a reality.
